THE course to start with
for a strong foundation in
physics and engineering

Vector concepts and trig functions are
COMPLETELY explained!
A must for anyone taking or planning
to take high school or college physics.
What you are going to learn

At the end of this course:

you will have an in-depth understanding of the unit circle, the trigonometric functions cosine and sine, why the Pythagorean Theorem is useful, and how these things relate to physics and engineering.

The unit circle and (x, y) coordinates

Coordinate systems are used to determine position in two or three dimensions. We are going to learn how circles and the Cartesian coordinate system (x, y) work together.

The Pythagorean Theorem

A right triangle - two shorter sides and the longest side known as the hypotenuse that is opposite a 90 degree angle, is a key player when studying the unit circle. It will be shown how the right triangle and the Pythagorean Theorem are important when studying the unit circle.

Vectors and Trigonometry

Vectors are used to represent an amount, or magnitude of a physical quantity AND its direction. The whole purpose of this course is to help explain vectors and calculate the x and y parts of a vector. Trigonometry is the study of triangles. Most of the math related to triangles is found in the cosine and sine functions, along with the angles involved. These functions have a correlation with x and y coordinates.
